Horizon

A personal orientation surface for the browser

Horizon is a configurable browser console for the information I want in view throughout the day: time, weather, daylight, tasks, links, and a few other useful signals.

I built it to feel less like a productivity dashboard and more like an instrument panel. It is quick to read, easy to adjust, and designed to work across desktop, mobile, and wider displays.

Project details

My role: Product concept and direction, UX/UI design, prototyping, implementation, testing, and release

Tools: Figma, Cursor, ChatGPT, React, TypeScript, Vite, Open-Meteo, BigDataCloud, Browser Geolocation, localStorage, and Vercel.

Timeline: Initial concept to live working product in a few days, followed by continued feature development, interface configuration, responsive refinement, testing, and public release

A focused interface built around glanceable information, clear hierarchy, and configurable instruments.

The product

Horizon brings useful daily information and personal tools together in one focused browser surface. The interface is simple and structured, with configurable instruments and display settings that let you adjust the experience while keeping the overall system consistent.

The current build includes:

  • Local time and date

  • Current weather and conditions

  • Sunrise and sunset

  • A 24-hour daylight instrument

  • Persistent tasks

  • Editable quick links

  • Daily intention

  • Location-aware information

  • Light and dark displays

  • Configurable instrument settings

  • Responsive desktop and mobile layouts

What’s coming next

Horizon is still actively being developed. Some of the things I’m exploring include:

  • More detailed weather and environmental instruments

  • Wind, precipitation, UV, and air quality

  • Moon phase and local astronomy information

  • Calendar and task integrations

  • More control over the console layout

  • Additional display settings and visual editions

  • A simpler way to install Horizon as a browser new tab

Have a product, interface, or idea that could use a clearer way forward?

Horizon started as a personal browser tool and became a working, configurable product in just a few days.

I design and build small digital products, interfaces, and interactive tools from early concept through working release.

If you have an idea that feels worth making, I’d like to hear about it.
